For a weird reason, Cheteshwar Pujara started trending after Josh Hazlewood decided to pull out of IPL 2021. However, the joke was on the Australian bowlers.
Why Hazlewood Pulls Out?
Josh Hazlewood pulled out of IPL 2021 and the news was broken on Thursday morning. Regarding the same, the Australian pacer explained, It’s been a long 10 months in bubbles and quarantine at different times, so I decided to have a rest from cricket and spend some time at home and in Australia in the next two months.” He added, “We’ve got a big winter ahead too. The West Indies is going to be a long tour, with Bangladesh (T20 tour) potentially thrown on the end of that.”
He wants to focus on the upcoming mega event later this year i.e the T20 World Cup. “Then potentially the T20 World Cup leading into the Ashes, so it’s a big 12 months, as it always is with Australia, and I want to give myself the best chance to be mentally and physically ready for that. That’s the decision I’ve made, and it sits pretty well with me,” Hazlewood told.

Why Is Pujara Trending?
But the news made Cheteshwar Pujara trending. One might wonder why. Basically Pujara has been a threat to Aussie bowlers in the last two editions of the Border Gavaskar trophy. Interesting Pujara made a comeback to Indian Premeir League as Chennai Super Kings bought him in the mini-auction months back. This means Pujara and Hazlewood were part of the same side for the 14th edition of the IPL until Wednesday. Now Hazlewood pulling himself out means he would not have to face Pujara even in the net session.
The Australian bowlers many times commented on how frustrating it could be to bowl to Pujara. The Indian batsman does not leave crease, no matter what. So many started joking that the though of having to bowl to the solid batsman during the net session made Hazlewood take the decision with just nine days to go for the IPL.
