Smriti Mandhana Aims for Record-Breaking Success: Dreaming of Most World Cup Wins

The Women’s Premier League is on its way to the second edition. All the teams are ready to give their best on the field. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Smriti Mandhana is ready to lead the team in the WPL. In an interaction, Smriti Mandhana revealed her desire to win the World Cup for India.

Smriti’s desire:

In the last two decades, India’s women’s cricket has evolved notably. A lot of players came and represented India at the highest level in the global platform. But in these years, the World Cup win remained a dream. In 2005, they lost the Women’s World Cup final to Australia. Again in 2017, Team India went to the final but lost the match to England. That was heartbreaking.

In expressing her ambitious aspirations, Smriti Mandhana emphatically declared her desire to etch her name in cricketing history by achieving the remarkable feat of securing the record for winning the highest number of World Cups. In a recent interaction, Smriti Mandhana said, “I want to have the record of winning the most number of World Cups.”

RCB’s Past Performance and New Aim:

In the inaugural edition of the WPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore signed Smriti Mandhana with a jaw-dropping price. She was appointed as the captain of the franchise. However, the inaugural edition was not memorable for the franchise. They lost five matches in a row. They registered their first win against the UP Warriorz by 5 wickets.

Before heading to the second session, they are padded up and ready. They are aiming to conquer the field this time. They will start their journey on February 24. In the first match, they will face UP Warriorz at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
