Sam Curran Ruled Out of T20 World Cup, Tom Curran Replaces Him

Sam Curran is out of IPL and T20 World Cup due to injury. Tom Curran has been added to the England squad in his place.

After CSK’s last match against Rajasthan Royals,Sam Curran complained of his back. The scans revealed a lower back injury which eventually forced him to be out of the ongoing IPL and also the T20 World Cup.

A media release from England and Wales Cricket Board said, Results of the scan revealed the injury.” It added, “He will fly back to the UK in the next couple of days and will have further scans and a full review later this week from the ECB’s medical team.”

Sam who was playing for Chennai Super Kings, recently in a video chat said, Extremely gutted. Absolutely loved my time with Chennai this season.” The video was posted by CSK where he said that he would continue to support the side. “The boys are doing extremely well. It hasn’t really sunk in yet, but I’m leaving the team in a fantastic space. The boys are playing really good cricket. I want to be supporting them from where I am the next few days. Once it’s all sunk in, I’ll definitely be supporting the team, and I’m sure they can go all the way and lift the trophy.”

Tom Curran is yet to feature for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. But he is also in the UAE coming off a decent The Hundred run.
