Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh Smash Record with 190-run 5th Wicket Stand, Surpassing Kohli and Pandya’s MCG Feat

Team India is playing their final T20 game before the T20 World Cup this year. They are locking horns against Afghanistan in the final T20 match of the series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Team India shattered after losing the first few wickets frequently. But Rinku Singh and skipper Rohit Sharma made the highest 5th wicket partnership for India. 

Record-Breaking Fifth Wicket Partnership:

On January 17, Team India is facing Afghanistan in the third T20 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. India lost a few wickets early but Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh are carrying India’s innings. After Sanju Samson got out on the golden duck, Rinku joined skipper Rohit on the crease. After that, that duo became unstoppable. Their partnership broke Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya’s record of the best fifth-wicket partnership. 

In the last edition of the T20 World Cup, India and Pakistan met on the group stage. After losing wickets frequently, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya carried the innings forward. The duo made an exciting fifth-wicket partnership of 113 runs. That was recorded as the best fifth-wicket partnership. 

But in the third T20 match, the Rohit-Rinku duo broke the record. In the fifth over, Rinku joined Rohit Sharma and gave a go to India’s innings. When Rinku came to bat, India was 22/4. From that point, the duo dragged the innings. The duo registered the highest 5th-wicket partnership record of 190 runs. That is an incredible partnership.

In the third T20 international, India won the toss and decided to bat first. In the start, India had a shaky start. Jaiswal was dismissed by Fareed Ahmed after scoring 4 runs. Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson got dismissed on golden ducks. Shivam Dube walked away after scoring 1 run. After that, Rinku Singh joined Rohit Sharma. 

After getting out in two ducks in the first two games, captain Rohit Sharma made an amazing comeback. He scored an amazing century. He remained unbeaten on 121 runs in just 69 deliveries. He smashed 11 boundaries and 8 over-boundaries with a strike rate of 175.36. Rinku Singh was again excellent. He remained unbeaten on 69 runs in 39 deliveries with 2 boundaries and 6 over-boundaries. To win the match, Afghanistan need to score 213 runs.
