After having batted first, England delivered a massive target of 340 runs to Netherlands, its highest score since the commencement of the World Cup.
All hail to England’s veteran player Ben Stokes who smashed a 108-run century to lead his team. Today, Ben Stokes achieved a remarkable feat while becoming the only player from England to slam 10,000+ runs, picking up 100+ wickets in international cricket. At a stage where England is the first team to get knocked out of the ongoing tournament, this feat by Ben Stokes came as a significant record for team England.
Ravi Shastri on teaching Hindi!
In one of the instances at the MPCA Stadium during ENG vs NED, a fan was holding on a banner on which it was written “England need Indian Coach.” After witnessing the moment, Eoin Morgan and Ravi Shastri discussed themselves with Eoin Morgan asking Ravi Shastri’s opinion on the assertion, to which Ravi Shastri replied “Haan humko bulao, hum sabko Hindi sikhayega (yes call me, I will teach Hindi to everyone).” This comment by Ravi Shastri has been winning hearts of both Indian and England fans.
Eoin Morgan’s reply
After Ravi Shastri’s reply, Eoin Morgan said “Most probably yeah, you are welcome to teach everyone Hindi, and some cricket as well.” The statement “teach some cricket as well” can be seen as the former England captain under whom the team won the 2019 World Cup title, is disappointed with his team’s execution of performance in the ongoing World Cup. As stated earlier, in this edition of the World Cup, England became the first team to get knocked out of the tournament.
