Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri made his debut in this edition of BBL in the clash between Hobart Hurricanes vs. Sydney Sixers on December 11 in Launceston. First a World Cup-winning player and then Team India’s coach but even after that, a new role was waiting for him.

Ravi Shastri was talented with bat in his playing days. After that, he made his debut in commentary. His journey as a commentator is excellent. India’s 2011 World Cup winning moment became more special because of his commentary. His words after the win “Dhoni finishes off in style. A magnificent strike into the crowd! India lift the World Cup after 28 years!” is still fresh.
He started a new innings in BBL last night. He received a warm welcome from the other commentators. Mark Howard and Aaron Finch accompanied him in his debut commentary session in the BBL. Howard addressed him as ‘ One of the biggest broadcast names in the planet’. Finch also praised him. He told Shastri the ‘King of commentary’ and the ‘Voice of cricket’.
