Rashid Khan Praises Virat Kohli’s Inspirational Influence After India’s Dominant Win Against Afghanistan

India has started their World Cup journey thrillingly. In the first match, they had an outstanding encounter with the Aussies. That was a pure dominating performance by India. India’s thrilling journey didn’t stop there. On October 11, India had a thrilling clash against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It was a show of India’s excellence in batting and bowling. India defeated Afghanistan in eight Wickets.

India’s killer performance:

On October 11, India met Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. All Indian fans were excited to see Virat Kohli playing in his home ground. However, India dominated Afghanistan since the start. Initially, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. While batting, Afghanistan didn’t have a great start. Afghan opener Rahamanullah Gurbaz scored 21 in 28 balls with 3 boundaries and 1 over-boundary. Ibrahim Zardran scored 22 in 28 balls. 

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi played a captain’s knock. He scored 80 runs in 88 balls. He smashed 8 boundaries and 1 over-boundary. Azmatullah Omarzai also played well he scored 62 in 69 balls. After 50 overs, they scored 272 runs.

While batting in the second innings, India was in a beast form, especially captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma played an amazing innings of 131 runs in just 84 balls. He scored a hundred in just 63 balls. In this giant inning, he smashed 16 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. His strike rate was 155.95. Ishan Kishan missed his half-century by just three runs. He scored 47 in 47 balls.

The Delhi, crowd and fans across the globe witnessed another classy half-century by Virat Kohli. After playing a responsible knock of 85 runs against Australia, he scored another half-century against Afghanistan. He played a knock of 55 runs in 56 balls and remained unbeaten. Shreyas Iyer got out on a duck against Australia. In this inning, he scored 25 in 23 balls and remained unbeaten. The Kohli-Iyer duo secured India’s win till the last.

Rashid Khan on Virat Kohli:

India played a killer innings against Afghanistan. Except for Rashid Khan, no other Afghan bowler got a wicket in the match. During a media interaction, Rashid Khan said, “ Virat Kohli has inspired me in many ways. His fitness, his intensity, his efforts, and the way he plates the game is just amazing.”

India won two matches in the tournament till now. On October 14, India will meet their all-time cricket rival, Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Fans are very excited to see the fixture. This is the biggest cricket rivalry in the whole cricket world. Both teams will try hard to win the match.
