“Process is very important, how I prepare and what I’m telling myself is as well”: Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal was unstoppable against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday, 11th May. Yashasvi Jaiswal had a standout performance in Rajasthan Royals’ most recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders as he recorded the fastest half-century in tournament history. When Rajasthan was given a target of 150 runs to pursue by the hosts, Jaiswal played a whirlwind knock. He reached fifty off just 13 deliveries, putting his name in the record books.

The Men in Pink were able to chase down the mark in 13.1 overs as a result of his knock, which was followed by skipper Sanju Samson’s hard hitting, moving them up to third place in the IPL 2023 Points Table.

Jaiswal had a memorable evening since he finished the game unbeaten on 98, but he also had a forgettable moment when his opening partner Jos Buttler was run out for a three-ball duck following an error in the second over.

Jaiswal talks about Butler’s run out

Buttler was penalized 10% of his match fee for violating the IPL’s Code of Conduct as he left the pitch in agony and rage. After the game, when asked about the run-out, Jaiswal shared what captain Samson had said to him after Jos Buttler was dismissed.

“I think it (run out) happens in the game, nobody does it on purpose. It gives me responsibility to carry on and make sure that I am there. Sanju bhai came to me and said ‘Don’t worry, keep playing your game, you are in nice touch’ and I was ok,” Jaiswal said during the post-match presentation.

He further said that he believes in working hard and following the process.

“I always have it in my heart to go out and do well. That’s how I think. Nice feeling that we have won. It’s not like everything happened right for me but I try my best. Process is very important, how I prepare and what I’m telling myself is as well,” he added.
