The domestic season in India has already started. Ranji Trophy’s 2023-24 season has already been start. In the second match, Karnataka met Gujarat in their second Ranji fixture. On the first day, Karnataka played well and dominated the opponent. However, the Karnataka team had a setback on the first day. Their star bowler Prasidh Krishna sustained an injury. After that, he didn’t bowl in the match.
Prasidh Krishna’s Injury:
After performing exceptionally well in the first match, Karnataka face Gujarat in the second match. Since the start, the Karnataka bowlers dominated the opponent. Karnataka was bowling first in the second match. While bowling, Prasidh Krishna bowled only 14.5 overs. He sustained a quadriceps injury. After that injury, he didn’t play in the match. That is a big setback for the team.
After he walked out from the ground, Vijaykumar Vyshak bowled the last delivery of Prasidh’s over. Before in 14.5 overs, Prasidh Krishna picked up two wickets. He dismissed Siddharth Desai and Manan Hingrajia. After he suffered the injury, he went back to the pavilion. Karnataka’s medical team is taking care of the pacer.
But as per the reports, this setback will be big for the Karnataka team. Because this quadriceps injury takes four to six weeks to recover. If that happens, he will be missing out on the rest of the Ranji Trophy matches for his state team. Though KSCA management has not given any official statement on Prasidh Krishna’s injury, fans are hoping for the best.
Karnataka vs. Gujarat Ranji match:
After winning the first Ranji match, Karnataka is locking horns against Gujarat. Karnataka won the toss and decided to bowl first. While batting first, Gujarat lost the first few wickets early. V Koushik got the first success for the team. Patel was dismissed on 4 runs. Priyank Panchal lost his wicket in 24 runs. Gujarat’s player Kshitij Patel missed a century by 5 runs. Vyshak Vijay Kumar dismissed him on 95 runs. Umang Kumar was dismissed in 72 runs in a delivery of Rohit Kumar. They got all out in 264 runs.
While batting in the second innings, Karnataka gave an amazing start. Openers played an amazing role. Their opening partnership lasted for 172 runs. Skipper Mayank Agarwal scored an amazing century. He played a knock of 109 runs in 124 balls. He smashed 17 boundaries and 1 over-boundary. Samarth R scored 60 runs in 108 balls. Devdutt Padikkal and Nikin Jose are on the crease. Padikkal is batting on 25 runs in 28 balls and Nikin Jose is batting on 11 runs. In the 48th over, Karnataka is on 208/2.
