However, Zalmi’s bowlers, led by Aamer Jamal, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Salman Irshad, held their nerve to deny Sultans a famous win. Despite Iftikhar and Jordan’s efforts, Sultans finished at 200/5, falling short by just four runs.
The victory was significant for Peshawar Zalmi, as they became the only team in this season of the PSL to defeat Multan Sultans twice. The win also propelled Zalmi closer to qualification for the playoffs, with nine points from their eight games.
For Multan Sultans, the loss was a minor hiccup in an otherwise impressive campaign. Having already qualified for the playoffs with six wins from eight games, they will look to bounce back in their remaining matches.
