After the match, he said, “People are talking a lot about my strike rate these days. People want me to go out there and hit sixes, but that is not my strength. I try to stick to my strength and get better every day.”

Babar Azam is in exceptional form in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) as captain of Peshawar Zalmi. He scored 394 runs in seven matches, with three fifties and a century, making him the tournament’s leading scorer. Recently, he became the fastest batter to reach 10,000 T20 runs, surpassing Chris Gayle’s record. However, questions arise about his strike rate of 129.40 in the shorter format.

In the 21st match of the tournament, Peshawar Zalmi met Multan Sultan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After winning the toss, Peshawar Zalmi decided to bat first. While batting first, they gave a great start. Saim Ayub scored 46 runs in 22 balls with 3 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. Skipper Babar Azam scored 64 runs in 40 runs. Rovman Powell remained unbeaten on 23 runs in 15 balls. They scored 204 runs in 20 overs. 

In the second innings, Mohammad Rizwan scored 32 runs in 24 balls. Dawid Malan scored 19 runs in 19 balls. Tayyab Tahir scored 26 runs in 18 balls.
