Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team’s 32 year old player Bismah Maroof has retired entirely from all forms of international cricket. The all-rounder had previously captained the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team from 2013 till 2020.
In June 2022, she became the most runs scorer for Pakistani women’s cricket team in both ODI and T20I formats (more than 2000 runs in each).[1][2] She has appeared for Pakistan in over 200 matches.
In April 2021, Maroof took a break from cricket to give birth, before confirming her return to availability in December 2021 ahead of the 2022 World Cup. She has played domestic cricket for Lahore, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited and Pakistan Universities.

“I have decided to retire from the game I love the most” Maroof said in the statement released by ICC
She added, “It’s been an incredible journey filled with challenges, victories and unforgettable memories”
“I want to express my gratitude to my family, who has supported me throughout my cricketing journey, from the beginning till now” said Maroof.

The 32 year old player didn’t leave anyone out while delivering the thank yous in her statement. She thanked her fans, the Pakistan Cricket Board and her teammates
She thanked PCB for “implementing the first ever parent policy” so that she could play for her team while also nurturing her baby.
