Orange Cap Holder of IPL 2020: Updated After DC vs CSK Match 34

In the first match of the Saturday doubleheader, Robin Uthappa scored 41 off 22 as an opener to give a solid base to Rajasthan Royals. But the top-order batters hardly utilized the same apart from their captain Steve Smith. The Royals captain scored 57 runs off 36 balls and then two quick effective add-ons from Jos Buttler (25) and Rahul Tewatia (19) helped Rajasthan Royals score 177 for the loss of six wickets. In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s top-order batsmen did their job pretty well. However, a quickfire from AB de Villiers eventually won the match for Kohli’s team. Virat Kohli (43), Devdutt Padikkal (35), and Gurkeerat Singh (19) were other contributors.

The next match saw another last-ball finish as Delhi Capitals chased down 180 runs successfully against Chennai Super Kings. After an early dismissal of Sam Curran, Faf du Plessis (58), Shane Watson (36), and Ambati Rayudu (45*) helped Chennai Super Kings put 179 on board for the loss of four wickets. Delhi Capitals started struggling from the beginning. While Shikhar Dhawan (101*) kept the fight from one end, wickets kept falling frequently at the non-striker’s end. Shreyas Iyer was out for just 23 runs followed by Marcus Stoinis for 24 runs. Axar Patel however changed the fate of DC at the climax by adding 5-ball 21* runs.

Faf du Plessis is currently at 3rd place followed by Dhawan at 4th. Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and AB de Villiers are the three representatives of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Orange Cap table.
