In a recent game against Somerset, Prithvi Shaw etched his name in the annals of cricket history with a mammoth knock of 244 runs from 153 balls. The inning was a display of attacking prowess, adorned with 28 fours and 11 towering sixes. 

This exceptional achievement marked his second double-century in List A cricket and positioned him sixth on the list of highest individual scores in 50-over cricket. Shaw’s remarkable feat demonstrated his intent to make a strong comeback and to remind everyone of his capabilities.

However, the fervour did not stop with a single extraordinary performance. In the ensuing game against Durham, Prithvi Shaw showcased his power-packed batting style once again. Opening the innings for Northamptonshire, he exhibited a breathtaking display of shot-making, amassing 125 runs from just 76 balls. 

His inning was studded with 15 boundaries and 7 colossal sixes. With Shaw leading the charge, Northamptonshire chased down the target of 199 with a staggering 24 overs to spare, underlining his instrumental role in the team’s victory.

The coach’s admiration was echoed by his recognition of Shaw’s remarkable skill and his significance as a match-winner. 

“Humble is the perfect word to describe Prithvi Shaw. He’s gracious and respectful, he’s loved being a part of the team. We’re loving having him here as well,” Sadler said to ESPN Cricinfo. 

“His skill speaks for itself, he’s a superstar. He’s as good as I’ve seen in 25 years of playing this game. He’s up there with the best in terms of ball striking. He genuinely wants to win games of cricket and has been a star in the dressing room,” he further added.
