Nicholas Pooran’s Sensational Knock Propels MI New York to Maiden MLC Title

The MI New York skipper’s blistering unbeaten knock of 137* off just 55 balls was nothing short of sensational, propelling his team to a resounding victory and securing their maiden Major League Cricket (MLC) title.

The stage was set for an epic clash as MI New York faced off against Seattle Orcas in the ultimate fixture of the MLC league. Seattle Orcas, led by the explosive Quinton de Kock, posted a formidable total of 183/9 in their allotted 20 overs, with de Kock smashing 87 runs off 52 deliveries. The target appeared challenging, but the MI franchise displayed their T20 league royalty credentials as they took to the chase with unparalleled determination and flair. 

Nicholas Pooran’s entry to the crease signalled the beginning of an extraordinary inning. The West Indian batsman wasted no time in unleashing his attacking instincts and carved out the fastest half-century of the season, reaching the milestone off just 16 balls. From the very first over, Pooran demonstrated his intent, hammering the ball to all corners of the ground, including two towering sixes.
