Fans recalling moments from WC
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was playing his 200th IPL match as CSK captain today in Mumbai against Rajasthan Royals. The team was asked to bat first by the Royals captain Sanju Samson and CSK were reduced to 125 for the loss of five wickets. MS Dhoni walked in and joined all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. In the 15th over, Dhoni stroked a delivery off Rahul Tewatia towards the covers for a quick single. As Jadeja refused for the same, Dhoni had to come back to his place without completing the single. To avoid a run-out, Dhoni dived to save his wicket. Dhoni who rarely does the same while running the wickets was seen doing the same in his last international match.
Playing the semi-final against New Zealand in World Cup 2019, Dhoni attempted for a full stretch dive to save his wicket back then also. It obviously became a discussion among fans and social media users started sharing two photographs. Interestingly, back then India’s onus was on the duo of Dhoni and Jadeja.
