Mohammad Amir Clashes with Fan Over ‘Fixer’ Taunts, Sparks Heated Exchange

On March 10, Quetta Gladiators locked horns with Lahore Qualandars in the 28th match of the tournament. In this match, Ex-Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir expressed frustration as some fans labeled him a ‘fixer.’ The cricketer visibly upset, confronted the accusations, highlighting the emotional toll such baseless claims can have.

The Incident:

Following the match, the 31-year-old cricketer, Mohammad Amir, engaged in a confrontational exchange with fans who labeled him a ‘fixer.’ A viral video captured the incident at Karachi Stadium, where Amir walked past a stand amid chants from supportive fans. Unfortunately, among the admirers, one person used the term ‘fixer,’ triggering a heated response from the cricketer.

Expressing his displeasure, Amir retraced his steps to address the individual who made the accusation. In the video, emotions ran high as Amir confronted the fan, exchanging heated words and even resorting to hurling abuses. According to the video, Amir said, “Fixer ke bachhe! Ghar se yahi seekh kea ate ho (Is this what your parents have taught you?),”

Mohammad Amir faced repercussions for his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal during the 2010 Lord’s Test in England. Acting under directives from captain Salman Butt, the left-arm seamer deliberately bowled no-balls. Subsequently, Amir received a five-year ban, alongside similar penalties for Butt and Mohammad Asif, marking a significant setback in their careers.

Gladiator’s Win Over Qalandars:

In that game, after winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars decided to bat first. While batting first, they lost the first two wickets quickly. Abdullah Shafique and skipper Shaheen Afridi played good knocks. Shahhem got out after scoring 55 runs and Shafique remained unbeaten on 59 runs. They scored 166/4 in 20 overs.

While batting in the second innings, Quetta Gladiators player Saud Shakeel carried the team and pushed to their desired win. When the other batters were getting out, he stood tall and played an unbeaten knock of 88 runs in 65 balls. Depending on his responsible knock, the team reached the target and won the match by 6 wickets.
