Leede Makes History as Leading Wicket-Taker for the Netherlands in World Cup with 15 Scalps in 9 Matches

The World Cup is a big stage full of surprises, achievements, and records. This is the biggest competition in cricket where everyone wants to showcase their talent. In this year one team caught attention. The Netherlands is a new team in the tournament. They don’t have much experience of playing in India. Despite that fact, they are playing quality cricket in this World Cup. They defeated teams like South Africa and Bangladesh. Against India, the star Netherlands player made a record.

Bas de Leede in the World Cup:

The Netherlands displayed a great character till now in the World Cup. Despite being a new member, they showed their character almost in every match. Among all the Dutch players, Bas de Leede shined the brightest.  He was excellent throughout the tournament. While playing against India, he made a record. Leede becomes the leading wicket-taker for the Netherlands in the World Cup. Till now, in nine matches, he picked up 15 wickets from the Netherlands side with an economy rate of 7.05. That is a great achievement.

Bas de Leede has been outstanding throughout the tournament. In the recent match against England, he took 3 crucial wickets in 74 runs. He picked up Harry Brook, Chris Woakes, and David Willey in the match.  Even against Bangladesh, he was excellent. He took 2 wickets just in 25 runs. He picked up Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah in that match. 

In their opening match of the World Cup against Pakistan, Bas de Leede shined the brightest. He took 4 wickets in 62 runs. In that match, he picked crucial wickets. Firstly, he picked up Mohammad Rizwan on 68 runs, then he picked up Iftikhar Ahmed on 9 runs. Shadab Kan got out on one of his excellent deliveries by scoring 32 runs. Then he picked up Hasan Ali on a duck. 

Match Tour:

India is locking horns with the Netherlands at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. This is the last group stage match of the World Cup. In the match, after winning the toss, India decided to bat first. India gave a solid start. Rohit Sharma played an excellent knock of 61 runs in 54 balls. He smashed 8 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. Shubman Gill scored another half-century. He got out by scoring 51 runs in 32 balls. 

Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are on the crease. Virat registered another half-century. He played a knock of 51 runs and Shreyas is on 31 runs. The Netherlands bowlers are trying well to dominate the Indian side. Bas de Leede took 1 wicket in 17 runs. Paul van Meekran took 1 wicket in 43 runs. In the 29th over, India is on 200/3.
