Kohli Angry On Dhoni For Misfielding

While the Indian captain is pretty expressive on the field, he has hardly shown and aggression to MS Dhoni so far. Moreover, Virat no matter what always defends Dhoni. But the same Kohli was seen roaring out on Dhoni in the important semi-final against New Zealand.

What Happened?

India is currently playing the first semi-final of World Cup 2019 against New Zealand at the Old Trafford, Manchester. The super expressive skipper never hides his emotions even at the 22yards. A good catch or a misfield, Virat always gives his true reaction. Although he has matured a lot and looks more sorted nowadays, this is one thing he never shies away. Today during the match against the Kiwis saw Kohli bursting out in frustration as MS Dhoni misfielded.

In the 26th over of New Zealand innings, Ross Taylor hit one Yuzvendra Chahal delivery at short cover and ran for a quick single. Kohli collected the ball quickly and threw the ball when Kane Williamson, the non-striker was yet to reach the crease. The ball came towards Dhoni but he failed to collect it. India clearly missed a chance of dismissal here and Kohli’s expression showed his repulsion.

Why such aggression?

History suggests that the Indian captain always backs his ex-captain. Dhoni has been criticized recently for his poor form and reflex. But Kohli mentioned even prior to the semi-final how much Dhoni is important to the team. On Dhoni’s birthday, Kohli referred to Dhoni is his big brother and forever captain. But today it was a different scenario. Kohli is captaining Indian cricket team for the first time in World Cup 2019. India have been phenomenal till now and reached semi-final as one of the top contenders. Undoubtedly Virat would not let anything go wrong at this stage. And he would certainly not spare anyone missing a chance and this is true for the skipper himself as well.
