KL Rahul Steals the Spotlight: Blazing fastest World Cup Century in Just 62 balls, Breaks Rohit’s Record

In this edition of the World Cup, Skipper Rohit Sharma scored a century against Afghanistan only in 63 deliveries. Rahul made it in 62 balls against the Netherlands tonight. 

Rahul played an exceptional innings of 102 runs in 64 balls. He smashed 11 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries with a strike rate of 159.38. In this World Cup, this is KL Rahul’s first century. With this hundred, he registered his sixth ODI hundred.

India’s Dominating Performance:

The Netherlands will be ending their World Cup journey after this match. They showed great characters all over the tournament. Against India, their bowlers couldn’t dominate the innings. Initially, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill gave an excellent start. Rohit scored 61 runs in 54 balls with 8 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. Virat Kohli shined in Chinnaswamy again. He registered another half-century of his career. With this, he made a new record. He scored his seventh half-century in 9 innings. With this, he equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of scoring 7 half-centuries in an edition of the World Cup. Shreyas Iyer scored his first World Cup century. He remained not out on 128 runs in 94 balls. He smashed 10 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. KL Rahul scored another century. He played a knock of 102 runs in 64 balls with 11 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries. India put a total of 410/4 runs on the board.
