IPL Points Table 2023: Updated After PBKS vs MI Match 46

First game washed due to rain

The match between Chennai Super Kings and Super Giants in Lucknow was called off due to rain after an intense battle in which spinners dominated. Moeen Ali and Maheesh Theekshana picked up crucial wickets while Ravindra Jadeja bowled an exceptional delivery to dismiss Marcus Stoinis. Ayush Badoni played a crucial role in the Super Giants’ comeback with a counter-attacking fifty, but rain forced the players off the field in the 20th over, leaving both teams with one point each.

The two participating teams got a point each since the game ended without a result. Both teams now have 11 points each after ten games and have moved one place ahead in the Points Table. While LSG are placed in the 2nd spot, CSK are right behind them in the 3rd.

Another big chase for Mumbai

Punjab Kings’ impressive batting prowess was on full display once again as they posted a mammoth total of 200-plus for the fourth consecutive match, setting an IPL record. Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma’s unbroken partnership of 119 runs from just 52 balls propelled them to a daunting total of 214 after being at 95 for 3 in the 12th over. Livingstone was the standout performer, smashing a blistering 82 off 42 deliveries, while Jitesh fell agonizingly short of his half-century, scoring 49 runs off 27 balls.

However, their stellar batting display was not enough to secure a victory as Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan orchestrated a masterclass in T20 batting, propelling Mumbai Indians to a resounding win with plenty to spare. Yadav scored a scintillating 66 off more than two runs per ball, while Kishan slammed a sensational 75. Finishing touches from Tim David and Tilak Varma were enough to take Mumbai Indians over the line with ease. The win further clogged the points table, with four sides, including Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, sitting on ten points each.

Mumbai Indians have moved up to the 6th place whereas Punjab Kings have dropped down to the 7th. Teams from Rank 4 to Rank 7 all have 10 points each. Apart from Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, these teams are Rajasthan Royals (4th) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (5th).
