It is safe to say that Kolkata Knight Riders are out of the playoffs race. But mathematically it is still possible for Kolkata Knight Riders to make it to the cut. Kolkata Knight Riders after being defeated by Chennai Super Kings are at 5th place now followed by the winning CSK at 8th. While Chennai Super Kings are already out of the scene, this match was important for KKR. But their loss eventually confirmed the qualification of Mumbai Indians to the top four.
The IPL 2020 points table is led by Mumbai Indians followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals at 2nd and 3rd places and both of them are on the same points-14. On the other hand, the 4th and 5th ranked teams in the chart Kings XI Punjab and KKR are on the same points too. For KXIP, there are still two games left whereas KKR have only one. The 6th and 7th teams in the list are also due to complete their quota of two more games and on 10 points now.
