IPL 2024: Three Bowlers of LSG to Watch Out for

The excitements are absolutely on the top. Fans are counting time for the inaugural match of the tournament between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. On April 24, Lucknow Super Giants kick off their season against Rajasthan Royals. Despite being newcomers in 2022, LSG impressed by reaching the playoffs. Fans are excited to see how both teams fare in the new season, anticipating another exciting IPL edition.

LSG is all geared up to play the third season under KL Rahul’s captaincy. In this season, there are a lot of new names in the squad. Shamar Joseph’s inclusion created a sensation. In the bowling lineup big names like Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Krishnappa Gawtham, and many others. In this article,  we will explore three bowlers of LSG to watch out for in IPL 2024. 

Shamar Joseph:

West Indies cricket is always full of talents. Their news edition to the talent squad is Shamar Joseph. Depending on his bowling brilliance, the West Indies defeated Australia in Gabba. That was an excellent win. In the second innings, he took 7 wickets and sealed the win. In his Test debut against Australia, the 24-year-old Shamar Joseph made an unforgettable impact, dismissing Steve Smith with his very first ball and claiming a 5-wicket haul in his maiden innings. 

However, it was his remarkable performance at the Gabba that solidified his legacy. Despite a toe injury, Joseph’s seven-wicket haul helped West Indies secure a historic victory, their first against Australia since 1997, earning him the Player of the Series award and an IPL 2024 spot. After that, he was picked up by LSG for the upcoming edition of the T20 tournament. His performance will be pleasing to watch. 

Ravi Bishnoi:

Ravi Bishnoi rose to prominence during the U19 World Cup 2020, emerging as the tournament’s top wicket-taker. Despite being a leg-spinner, his specialty lies in his potent googly, which poses a challenge for right-handed batsmen. This unique skill earned him a swift promotion to the senior Indian cricket team.

He made his IPL debut in 2020 for Punjab Kings. Following his time with Punjab Kings, the leg-spinner joined Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL in 2022. In 52 matches, he showcased his bowling prowess, securing an impressive tally of 53 wickets. In the electrifying IPL season of 2023, the player bowled 50.3 overs, conceding 391 runs while claiming 16 wickets with a remarkable economy rate of 7.74.

Yash Thakur:

Yash Thakur burst onto the IPL scene in 2023, showcasing his prowess as a right-arm medium pacer. Despite being relatively new to the tournament, Thakur’s impact was immediate, as he claimed an impressive tally of 13 wickets in just 9 matches. His ability to trouble batsmen was evident, with a standout performance that included his best bowling figures of 4/37, all while maintaining an economy rate of 9.07.

Following his promising debut season, Thakur’s talent caught the attention of the Lucknow franchise, who secured his services for IPL 2024. With his knack for picking up crucial wickets and a commendable strike rate of 14.69, Thakur is poised to continue making significant contributions to his team’s success in the upcoming season.
