The defending champions Chennai Super Kings have done very well in the IPL auction 2023. They got all guns blazing for the star English all-rounder Ben Stokes for 16 crores. Apart from him, they did not go for any big overseas player. They bought Ajinkya Rahane for 50 Lakhs who would be their backup opener.Â
The squad looks pretty much settled with many all-rounders. They will miss the services of Dwayne Bravo who has been their death bowler for many years. Bravo, however, will be the bowling coach of the side.
Last year, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway took over as CSK’s new opening duo. Surprisingly, both players have shown strong bat control and should be watched out for. After much conjecture, Ravindra Jadeja has rejoined CSK and will serve as Dhoni’s go-to man. Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes, two all-rounders from England, will give CSK’s middle order more depth.
