Mumbai Indians had yet another successful IPL campaign in 2020 as they defeated Delhi Capitals in the final. Rohit Sharma did justice to his repute as one of the finest captains of the league and became the successful captain in IPL as well in terms of titles. Sharma would love to win the title one more time with the most balanced IPL team he proudly leads. As a player Rohit Sharma has already played the second-most IPL games (200) after MS Dhoni (204). He is currently the fourth highest run-getter in the history of the league with 5230 runs at an average of 31.31 with one hundred and 39 half-centuries. He also has the record of hitting fourth-most number of sixes in the IPL (213).

A Lot to Be Added In IPL

In terms of runs, at present the MI skipper is only behind Virat Kohli (5878), Suresh Raina (5368) and David Warner (5254). If he maintains a decent form, he can easily move up in the table and attain the second position at least. One more century in the 14th season of IPL will make him only the third batsman with 40 or more fifties. With 458 fours in the tournament history, Rohit Sharma is at the sixth place in the chart of most fours. Few more and he will be able to cross Gautam Gambhir in the table who is at fifth place with 491 IPL fours. If he hits three more maximums, which in all probability he can, he will be surpassing third-ranked MS Dhoni (216 sixes).

Rohit can have the second-most wins to his name as captain. He already has the most IPL title as captain and player. He has led Mumbai Indians in 116 matches and won 68 out of them. Rohit Sharma can easily go past Gambhir’s wins tally of 71 as a captain in this season. However, the table topper in this category is MS Dhoni who has 110 wins.
