In the match 4 of IPL 2021, Punjab Kings will be taking on Rajasthan Royals on April 12. The 6th and 8th team of the last season will be focusing on a good start to this year’s campaign. They will be hoping for their major players to click and give them a major boost after IPL 2020 debacle.
Punjab Kings
KL Rahul will be once again fulfilling multiple duties for Punjab Kings. The IPL 2020 was Rahul’s first stint as an IPL captain. He failed to make the season memorable as a captain, however, he ended as the best batsman of the edition. The Orange Cap holder of IPL 2020, KL Rahul has been a consistent performer in IPL and out of previous three seasons, he scored 600-plus runs twice.
Rahul will be donning gloves behind the wicket as well for his IPL side. For KL Rahul, this IPL will be important as an IPL captain and player. He has not been in very good touch for a while. He failed to make an impact during India-England T20I series, but looked improved in the 50-over leg. Rahul’s focus will be to do well in IPL to cement his place yet again in the national side for the upcoming T20I World Cup.
Rajasthan Royals
Ben Stokes was missed in some part of the league last year following his father’s illness. However, in just eight matches he made an impact by adding 285 runs to his name at an impressive strike rate above 142 including a hundred and fifty. He failed to produce any effective spell albeit as he could pick up only two wickets in the 15 overs he bowled. He had not enjoyed much success in two previous seasons of IPL in 2018 and 2019 as well. Clearly, Stokes will be motivated to do well in this season especially after his good showings for the English touring side in India recently. One of the leading contemporary all-rounders Ben Stokes is a dependable name for Rajasthan Royals at the top. The franchise and fans will have high expectations from the English superstar.
