David Willey – Chennai Super Kings

David Willey did not have a great season with Chennai Super Kings last time. But the all-rounder can pitch a perfect inswinger with new ball hence could have been a great option to go along with Deepak Chahar. His hard-hitting ability can also be utilized if sent at the top order earlier.

Chris Morris – Delhi Capitals

Why did Delhi release Chris Morris? The answer is still unknown. With 13 wickets in nine games in the last season, he was the go-to bowler for Delhi Capitals. His good pace combined with his ability to bowl yorkers in death overs makes him useful. Moreover, he can be a good batting option down the order too.

Sam Curran – Kings XI Punjab

Sam Curran could definitely perform much better than he did last time. Nine wickets in ten games at an average of 32.30 is not what he is famous for. But his ability to deliver with both bat and ball implicates that he could be useful in the upcoming season as well.

Chris Lynn - Kolkata Knight Riders

Chris Lynn proved to be a valuable player for Kolkata Knight Riders last time. He scored 405 runs at an average of 31.15 with a strike rate of 139.66 and the numbers do not justify his release from the franchise at all. Kolkata Knight Riders do not have an unsettled batting combination on the top and releasing an opener isn’t a wise decision.

Alzarri Joseph - Mumbai Indians

The defending champions do have a good pace option but Alzarri Joseph could have been utilized ideally in rotation. Most importantly the 22-year old, unlike other pacers in Mumbai Indians boast of good pace along with using his height to be effective in taking wickets.

Liam Livingstone – Rajasthan Royals

Liam Livingstone has the ability to be a good power-hitter down the order. His leg-spin often comes handy for the team in crucial moments as well. Livingstone took 14 wickets in 10 games at an average of 15.35 for Lancashire Lightning in the Vitality Blast 2019 which speaks for his good form.

Shimron Hetmyer – Royal Challengers Bangalore

Shimron Hetmyer took time, well quite a lot to come in full flow in the last edition. In his last match, he smashed a 75 off 47 balls to take Bangalore to a not-so-important but satisfactory victory. The potential is shown by the Guyanese batsman definitely makes him a deserving IPL player.

Deepak Hooda – Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad has better names in the line-up than Deepak Hooda. But the team does lack of proven Indian faces in the middle-order. This is where Hooda could have come useful. He had a tough season last time where he scored 64 runs in 11 games and took one wicket. But one more fair chance he did deserve.
