IPL 2020: Here’s the Reason why Ambati Rayudu is not Playing today against Rajasthan Royals

The IPL 2020 journey is getting tougher for Chennai Super Kings. Their match-winner for the first game against Mumbai Indians is not available for their second IPL 2020 match. Keep reading to find out the reason why Ambati Rayudu is not playing against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020.

Suresh Raina was not missed

Chennai Super Kings seemed to have a deal with all possible obstacles and begun their IPL 2020 campaign on a happy note. They won their first game against Mumbai Indians by five wickets. Moreover, the absence of Suresh Raina was not felt at all and the credit goes to Ambati Rayudu. He ended up as the highest scorer of the match with a 48-ball 71. The openers left too early within a few overs of CSK innings when Rayudu joined Faf du Plessis to chase down the target. He brought stability back to the middle-order and took the major responsibility. While Faf du Plessis was the anchor of the chase, it was Rayudu who never left the required run rate to become a burden. Suresh Raina used to be an integral part of the CSK line-up and at No. 4. After the performance of Rayudu, it seemed like Chennai Super Kings would be able to find a suitable replacement for Raina in Rayudu.

Here is why Ambati Rayudu not playing today against RR

Unfortunately, now Chennai Super Kings will have to play their second game without Ambati Rayudu. Chennai Super Kings are playing their second IPL 2020 match against Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah on September 22. Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. When he revealed the squad, the absence of Rayudu surprised all. But Dhoni himself said, “Rayudu is not 100% fit, so Ruturaj comes in. We won’t be the best fielding side; we will be a safe fielding side.”

While this is not the ideal situation for Chennai Super Kings, they will expect a good show by the debutant Ruturaj Gaikwad. A match-fit Ambati Rayudu is all that Chennai Super Kings management and fans will hope for in the league going ahead.
