IPL 2019: Glad I don’t have to bowl to Russell, says Kuldeep Yadav

Kolkata Knight Riders have made a great start to their campaign in IPL 2019. They have won 2 out of the 3 games so far. The scriptwriter of their victories has been Andre Russell. The Caribbean all-rounder has been extraordinary in all the 3 games so far.

In the first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he scored 49 from 19 balls to get his side home in a thriller. Then, against Kings XI Punjab, his 48 from 17 balls propelled KKR to a winning total of 218. When the team was in trouble against Delhi Capitals, he made 62 from 28 balls to guide the team to 185. The match ended in a tie and went in favor of DC.

Russell has 159 runs to his name at a stupendous strike rate of 248.44. To go with that, he has picked up 5 wickets too. He is certainly the most valuable player of the league so far.

Kuldeep Yadav, his teammate, recently spoke about Russell. The spinner mentioned that Russell is the game changer and he is glad he doesn’t have to bowl to the Caribbean player. Kuldeep also believes that KKR has the potential to win its third title this year.

“You need a player who can change the game for you. We have Russell in that category. He is a perfect game changer for us. We all are proud of him. When he is on fire, he is unstoppable. I am glad I don’t have to bowl to him (Russell),” Kuldeep was quoted as saying in The Times of India (TOI).

“He is the kind of player who can destroy any bowler’s economy rate. The way we have been playing and have shown fighting spirit, I think KKR will win the trophy this year,” he added.
