#5 Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube
An exciting talent from Mumbai, Shivam Dube fetched big money from Royal Challengers Bangalore this year. The 25-year-old all-rounder had a decent run with the bat and ball for Mumbai in the Ranji trophy. The Mumbai-born player has scored at an average of more than 50 and picked 28 wickets in the first-class career. Dube is the kind of player who hits the ball cleanly. He did brilliantly in this year’s Ranji Trophy. The left-hander came into the picture, just before the auction as he smashed five sixes in an over off Pravin Tambe in a local Mumbai T20 tournament. The timing couldn’t have been better. He was one of the hot picks in the auction and RCB went on to spend INR 5 crores to rope him in. RCB has been lacking a player who could don the role of a finisher, they might just have found the right guy for the job.

Varun Chakravarthy
Varun Chakravarthy, a mystery spinner from Tamil Nadu, who started all the way from playing the fourth-grade team and eventually reached the domestic side of Tamil Nadu. The 27-year-old helped Madurai panthers win the Tamil Nadu Premier League this year. He is one of the players who set the auction on fire as he bagged a whopping INR 8.4 crores. Chakravarthy had a great TNPL season last year and bowled at an economy of less than 5. He continued with his form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well where he emerged as the second highest wicket-taker. Varun will play a critical role for Kings XI Punjab accompanying Ravichandran Ashwin & Mujeeb ur Rahman during the middle overs.

Rinku Singh
You might have seen Rinku Singh playing for Kolkata Knight Riders last year. He did not get a proper chance to showcase his talent. But in the last few months, he performed exceptionally well in the Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh. He amassed 953 runs in just 10 games at an average of over 100. The left-hander finished as the third highest run-getter of that tournament. Another notable performance by Rinku Singh in recent times came during Uttar Pradesh's Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 encounter where he played a sweltering knock of 44-ball 91* against Tripura. Rinku didn't just sparkle in the longer format of the game, he performed well at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy too. He can score quick runs in the middle order of the innings and can bat around Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik to help KKR finish off well.

#1 Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians' opener Ishan Kishan showed his fearless intent in the previous season. He will look to carry on a similar show in the upcoming tournament for the three-time champions. Ahead of the worthwhile T20 tournament, Kishan had notched up a ton and a half-century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while featuring for his state team Jharkhand. The 20-year-old has accumulated close to 600 runs in the IPL at a strike rate of a little over 137. On a given day, Ishan has the potential to get Mumbai Indians off to flyer against any opposition. He was picked by the Gujarat Lions for INR 35 Lakh in the 2016 season. In a rather dismal 2017 season for Gujarat, Kishan was one of the few positives to come out with his late order hitting. His big promotion though came in the 2018 IPL auction when MI raised a whopping INR 6.20 crore for his services. He impressed immediately, showing significant growth from his earlier years, with a range of shots and a safe pair of hands behind the stumps.
