India’s Current Head Coach Rahul Dravid’s Future Yet To Be Determined By The BCCI

Following team India’s impressive conduct in the 2023 World Cup tournament, current speculations are there that team India present Coach Rahul Dravid will probably continue his role as the team’s Coach either by an expansion or a renewal of the contract.

Rahul Dravid was appointed as India’s coach for a tenure of 2 years succeeding Ravi Shastri. Initially, Rahul Dravid and his team were contracted for team India until the conclusion of the 2023 World Cup but following India’s spectacular performance in the 2023 World Cup, the BCCI is planning to extend Rahul and his coach team’s contract.

Whole team likely to be offered with extension

Along with Rahul Dravid, it has been learnt that batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey are also likely to extend their contracts with the BCCI. But chances are most likely that after the final match of the 2023 World Cup on November 19, Rahul Dravid will step down as the Head Coach following the end of his 2-year contract. In all, the BCCI is yet to decide on Rahul Dravid’s future as team India’s Coach. A rift still prevails between the BCCI and Rahul Dravid that despite of Rahul stepping down as the Coach, his coaching staff will likely continue with their contract.

Two tours back to back after the World Cup!

Following the 2023 World Cup, India will take on Australia in a 5-match T20 series which will commence from November 23. For the series, NCA Director VVS Laxman will lead the Indian Cricket Team against Australia. It has also been learnt that all the senior players in India’s Playing XI will be put to rest after a hectic schedule at the 2023 World Cup. Just after the Australia tour, India will begin it’s South Africa tour for another series on December 10.
