In the year 2023, he got 4-five wicket hauls for India. Ravindra Jadeja got one five-wicket haul in the ODI format in 2023. That five-wicket haul came on the World Cup stage against South Africa. Against South Africa, he registered a spell of 5/33. That was sensational.
The most interesting five-wicket haul was by Mohammed Siraj. In the stage of Asia Cup 2023. In the final match against Sri Lanka, Mohammed Siraj was into another spell. He named the five-wicket haul in just 16 deliveries. That was his first five-wicket haul in the ODI format. Kuldeep Yadav got one five-wicket haul in ODI format in 2023.
Arshdeep Singh’s Five-Wicket Haul:
Arshdeep’s five-wicket haul came against South Africa in the first ODI against India. On December 17, India and South Africa met for the first ODI in Johannesburg. While batting first, South Africa struggled in front of the Indian bowlers. Arshdeep Singh was unstoppable. He got a five-wicket haul just in 37 runs. He picked up players like Hendricks, T. de Zorzi, Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen, and Andile Phehlukwayo. India won the match by 8 wickets.
Along with that, there is another record. 8-five wicket hauls came in just one year. But in the last 8 years, from 2015 to 2022, Indian bowlers 7-five wickets hauls. That is an interesting record. 2023 turned out as a great year for Indian bowlers.
