India achieve a unique feat post their Dharmshala victory

India achieved a unique record in Test cricket after their victory against England in Dharamsala. With an innings and 64 runs victory in the fifth Test, India attained a win-loss ratio of exactly 1 for the first time in their Test history. India have won 178 Test matches out of 579 games they have played so far, with exactly the same number of losses. Their win-loss ratio now stands at one, with 222 matches ending in draws and one game being tied. India’s win-loss ratio since 2015 is the highest in Test matches, with a ratio of 2.545, surpassing Australia‘s ratio of 1.888 during the same period.

In the fifth Test match, Ravichandran Ashwin took a five-wicket haul in his 100th Test as India defeated England. James Anderson also achieved a significant milestone, reaching 700 Test wickets, becoming only the third bowler to achieve this feat and the first seamer to do so. Despite Anderson’s achievement, England were unable to match India’s performance, with Ashwin’s bowling helping to bowl out England for 195 runs in their second innings.

Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root put up some resistance, but it was not enough to prevent India from securing a convincing victory. Ashwin finished with nine wickets in the match, marking his 36th five-wicket haul in a career that began in 2011. India’s victory in Dharamsala sealed the series 4-1, highlighting their dominance over England in the Test series.
