Fans are cheering for their teams. They all are high on excitement. Especially, Indian fans experienced a thrilling match between India and Australia. It was the first match for India in the tournament. They won the match by six wickets. Virat and KL Rahul were the heroes of the match. They secured India’s win by playing responsible knocks.

The ‘Virat-Rahul’ Pair:

This match had more thrill than a suspense thriller. Initially, Australia opted to bat first. Indian bowlers dominated the Australian batting lineup. David Warner gave a decent start. He scored 41 in 52 balls. Steven Smith scored 46 in 71 balls. He smashed 5 boundaries. Labuschagne scored 27 in 41 balls. Glenn Maxwell was disappointed in the match. He scored 15 in 25 balls. Mitchell Starc scored 28 in 35 balls. Other than them, no Aussie batter scored big. They got all out on 199 runs.

It was a low total to chase. Target was easy but India had a horrible start. Three wickets got down by 2 runs. At the very first, Ishan Kishan got out on a duck. Then skipper Rohit Sharma was also out on a duck. The third wicket was Shreyas Iyer. He also got out on a duck. It was a mess for India. From that end, Virat and Rahul carried India closer to winning. They both played responsible innings. Virat’s innings were an absolute masterclass. In a pressure situation, he took more singles than hitting bigs. He played an innings of 85 runs in 116 balls. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 97 runs in 115 balls.

Mohammad Kaif on Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli has shown a batting masterclass in that match. That innings was a true example of his class. Fans were amazed by his excellence. In the next match, India will be playing against Afghanistan in Delhi. Delhi is Virat Kohli’s home ground.  Former Indian batter Mohammad Kaif was one of them. He expresses his words on Kohli. He said, “ If a batter scores runs in the first match and he is a player who if he has a good first match, you can check the history, then he doesn’t stop. He knows he has got form and will score consistently.”

Further, he added, “ It is a home game for him. Fans will come with banners and shout his name. His name is already written in the stadium, so he does not need motivation. The form he is in, I feel the bowlers will have great difficulties on this pitch.”
