A thrilling showdown has ended on a winning note for Australia. Maxwell’s excellence secures the team’s win. Glenn Maxwell played a match-winning knock and secured the winning in an almost-losing match. Fans across the globe enjoyed a perfect batting show of the Aussie all-rounder. On November 7, Afghanistan faced Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Australia was losing frequent wickets in the early stage. From that stage, Maxwell held the innings and dragged Australia towards the win.

Initially, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Rahmanullah Gurbaz got out quickly by scoring 21 runs. Ibrahim Zadran was exceptionally well. He played an unbeaten knock of 129 runs in 143 balls. His inning consisted of 8 boundaries and 3 over-boundaries. Rahmat Shah scored 30 runs. Rashid Khan remained unbeaten on 35 runs. 

The Aussie bowlers tried well to dominate the Afghan batters. Josh Hazelwood picked up 2 crucial wickets in 39 runs. Glenn Maxwell took 1 wicket in 55 runs. Adam Zampa took 1 wicket in 58 runs. Mitchell Sterc took 1 wickets in 70 runs.

In the second innings, Afghan bowlers dominated the Aussie batting lineup extremely well. Naveen-ul-Haq picked up two quick wickets in the beginning. After that Azmatullah Omarzai took 2 wickets in 52 runs. Rashid Khan was bowling exceptionally well. He picked up 2 wickets in 44 runs. But Glenn Maxwell’s unbeaten innings of 201 runs grabbed the victory from Afghanistan. Australia won the match by 3 wickets.

The win went in Australia’s favor. Glenn Maxwell grabbed the win from the Afghanistan side. This win brings no significant changes to the highest wicket-takers list. It remained unchanged.
