Sachin Tendulkar on India’s World Cup Preparation

Sachin Tendulkar believes that Virat Kohli’s team should learn from the warm-up and move on. According to him, this practice matches help to understand the conditions well. This will help the team management to strategies accordingly. India had a terrible show against the Kiwis where they could put only 179 and New Zealand chased it down in 37.1 overs.

Tendulkar said, “I will not judge the team after each and every game. It’s a tournament, and things like these will happen. The main tournament has not even started yet.” He added, “I think; we need to settle down, one or two games may go here and there. India should make most of the practice matches leading to the World Cup. They should understand what kind of surfaces they might get. I won’t panic at all as of now.”

Sachin opined that all teams would get a chance to finalize their playing XI post based on these warm-up matches. The teams are not very keen on revealing the final eleven during the practice as well he thinks. “Many a times, teams are trying different combinations, batting line up. Almost all teams are not sure about their front-line, playing XI, several bowlers and batsmen are rested. Nobody is wanting to expose their proper playing XI.”

Tendulkar on Surprise Package

When asked about the surprise package for the mega event, Tendulkar picked Afghanistan. He has his faith in Afghan spin attack and hopes them to produce some amazing spells. Regarding England’s wicket, Sachin said that the wicket would change with time. It would be flatter and spinners would have a good show.
