“I can see number 45 and number 18 Jersey…” Former Indian Skipper Sunil Gavaskar Made a Big Statement Over Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar predicted something over the other two Indian greats. 

No. 10 and No. 7 Jersey are Officially Retired:

Sachin Tendulkar contributed an uncountable number of proud moments to India and its fans. In 25 years of glorious cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar achieved some outstanding records. After an exceptional career, he is called ‘The God of Indian Cricket”. After his retirement, BCCI made a great gesture to him. After his retirement, BCCI officially declared the retirement of the number 10 jersey to show his respect. No other player can use this jersey number. 

The same thing happened with jersey number 7. BCCI also retired MS Dhoni’s jersey. Dhoni retired from International cricket in 2020. In the blue jersey, he played the last match for India in the 2019 World Cup semifinal. He gifted India the 2011 World Cup, 2007 T20 World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy. After Tendulkar’s jersey retired in 2017, BCCI also retired MS Dhoni’s jersey a few days back.

After those retirements, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar made a bold statement. He said, “I can see number 45 and number 18 Jersey retiring the same like number 7 and number 10 in Indian cricket.” That was a big statement by the cricket great. 

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have always been an asset to the Indian team. Both these batters dragged Team India into many difficult situations. In the recently concluded World Cup, they set new benchmarks. As a skipper, Rohit played his first World Cup. Under his captaincy, Team India performed exceptionally well. The team was unbeaten till the final. On the other hand, Virat Kohli was in excellent form. He scored three centuries and several half-centuries. He ended up being the highest runscorer of the tournament.
