“His hunger will be satisfied when” Harbhajan Singh  Reveals Virat Kohli’s  Burning Desire for World Cup Triumph

The IPL 2024 is commencing soon. As the T20 World Cup is commencing on June 1st, IPL is raising its curtains early. Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face in the first fixture of the upcoming season. Virat Kohli will be in action in that tournament. Before starting the season, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh made a big comment on Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli in World Cup:

Virat Kohli played his first World Cup in 2011. In that year, India won the World Cup after 28 long years. After that, India made their exit from the 2015 World Cup semifinal. They lost the 2019 World Cup semifinal too. But the real heartbreak was the 2023 World Cup. India performs outstandingly well. Being unbeaten, they appeared in the final. Virat Kohli played incredibly well. He ended up being the highest run scorer of the tournament. But India lost the World Cup.

Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli opted to skip the five-match Test series against England to be with his wife, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, for the birth of their second child, ‘Akaay’. Despite his absence, India clinched the series 4-1 after an initial loss. Kohli’s last appearance was in the T20I series against Afghanistan, where he scored 29 and 0.

Harbhajan Singh on Virat Kohli:

Harbhajan Singh expressed his views on Kohli’s break, highlighting the necessity for the cricketer to rest and recuperate. He said, “Virat Kohli didn’t appear on the ground. He needed a well-deserving rest and he got it. In 2011 he won a World Cup, he got into the team and he won the World Cup for the first time, we had already played three or four World Cups and he won it for the first time. It was luck and after that, Virat turned into a big player he played in 2015, 2019, and 2023, and even after that he couldn’t get his hands on the trophy.”

Harbhajan added that Kohli’s ultimate ambition is winning another World Cup, showcasing the star cricketer’s relentless drive and hunger for success.  Harbhajan Singh said, “So that feeling stays in the mind of the player. I think he won’t be satisfied until he gets his hand on the trophy. He has broken a lot of records and scored a lot of runs. His hunger will be satisfied when he gets his hands on the World Cup trophy.”
