Hilarious Moment as Ball Hits Umpire During India’s Bowling Spell in u-19 World Cup Semi-Final

Another World Cup is going on in the cricket world. In the last year, fans across the globe experienced a thrilling ODI World Cup in India. In 2024, the India Under 19 team is participating in the Under 19 World Cup. Since the beginning of the tournament, the young lads displayed some amazing cricketing action. With their amazing display, they qualified for the semifinal. In the match, a special moment of the onfield umpire grabbed the attention. 

On-Field Moment:

While India was bowling, a funny incident took place. In the 25th over, Musheer Khan came to bowl. In the third ball, he bowled a tossed-up delivery. The batter struck hard down the ground. Then the ball hit the umpire on the thigh before he moved out from the place. At this moment, the ball missed to hit the boundary, and 4 runs were saved.

Musheer Khan bowled well. He conceded only 8 runs in 3 overs with a maiden. In the fifth delivery of the 25th over, South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorious smashed a boundary down the third man. After that over, South Africa was 99-2.

Match Tour:

After showcasing amazing prowess in the group stage, India’s under-19 team qualified for the semifinal stage. They met South Africa in the semifinal stage at the Williowmoore Park in Benoni. After winning the toss, India opted to bowl first. South Africa had a decent start. They lost their first wicket in 23 runs. Steve Stolk was dismissed on 14 runs. David Teeger walked away on a duck. 

Richard Seletswane scored 64 runs in 100 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. Pretorious played an excellent knock of 76 runs in 102 balls. He smashed 6 boundaries and 3 over-boundaries. Oliver Whitehead scored 22 runs in 34 balls. Skipper Juan James got out on 24 runs. 

Indian bowlers are playing well. Raj Limbani picked up 3 wickets in 60 runs. Musheer Khan took 2 wickets in 43 runs. Naman Tiwari and Saumy Pandey picked up 1 wicket each. In 50 over, the South Africa u-19 team scored 244-7. India’s u-19 team needs 245 runs to win.
