The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the fixture schedule for the ninth ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, set to take place from 3rd to 20th October 2024 in Bangladesh. The tournament will feature 23 matches involving the top 10 women’s teams from around the globe, promising fans an exhilarating display of cricketing talent.
The event will be hosted at two renowned venues in Bangladesh – the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. Ten teams will compete over 18 action-packed days, vying for the coveted title in T20 cricket.
The schedule was officially revealed at a ceremony in Dhaka, attended by Mr. Nazmul Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, alongside ICC CEO Geoff Allardice and the Captains of the Indian and Bangladeshi women’s teams, Harmanpreet Kaur and Nigar Sultana respectively.
ICC World Cup 2024 Groups
Group A will feature six-time winners Australia, along with India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Qualifier 1, with matches scheduled in Sylhet. Group B matches, on the other hand, will see hosts Bangladesh face off against England, South Africa, West Indies, and Qualifier 2, to be held in Dhaka.

The tournament kicks off with an exciting clash between South Africa and England in Dhaka on 3rd October, followed by a match between hosts Bangladesh and Qualifier 2. Defending champions Australia will begin their campaign on 4th October in Sylhet against Qualifier 1. Another highly anticipated fixture is the match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled for 6th October in Sylhet.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for 17th October in Sylhet and 18th October in Dhaka. The final showdown to crown the T20 World Cup champions will take place at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on 20th October.
