As the Sunrises Hyderabad made an entrance in the IPL 2024 player auction with a big budget, they have bought many potential players in their squad including the overseas player Travis Head for ₹6.8 crores. As the SRH launch to play their first match against KKR, the fandom of SRH is stunned to see that Travis Head was not included in the playing Xl.
The dilemma:
Though the team management hasn’t released any official announcement as to why Travis Head was left out of playing Xl of SRH for their first game, many experts believe that the dilemma of SRH team management might be the main cause behind it. The dilemma now is determining where to fit Travis Head in the batting lineup, which led SRH team management to leave Travis Head on the bench for their first match against KKR.Â

Travis Head is quite effective in middle overs but his magnificent batting kicks in the powerplay aiding the team to put more runs on board. But the problem for SRH is that they already have enough prodigious opening Batsmen like Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, and Anmolpreet Singh who have the capability of bashing tremendous runs in the powerplay. Rahul Tripathi and Mayank Agarwal are expected to perform the role of openers in the match as Rahul Tripathi can hit massive sixes and fours while Mayank Agarwal will take the pivotal role in playing long and responsible innings.
Previous year struggles:
SRH have already struggled with the same complication in the previous years of IPL, as they couldn’t find an ideal opening partnership to hit more runs though they had a variety of potential players under their belt. If the SRH decides to include Travis Head in the playing Xl it would collapse the whole batting lineup leaving SRH to make numerous changes in the Playing Xl. But still, everything continues to stay as an assumption and the absence of Travis Head still arouses questions and discussions among the experts and the fandom of SRH. As the IPL has just begun, it is too early to conclude whether or not Travis Head will play the rest of the IPL 2024 season.
