Asia Cup 2023 has reached the final stage. India and Sri Lanka will face each other on Sunday to grab the title. Sri Lanka is the champion of the last edition of the Asia Cup. India is in a great form. So the final match will be great to watch.
But there is a setback for India right before the final. Indian star spinner Axar Patel sustained an injury before the big day. The bowler got injured in the match between India and Bangladesh. His injury is a big blow for the Indian team.

On Friday, India had a clash against Bangladesh. In that match, India lost by 6 runs. Bangladesh bowlers dominated throughout the innings. But in this pressure situation, Shubhman Gill scored an excellent century. They made a fabulous 122 runs in 133 balls. In that match, Axar also played a responsible innings of 42 runs. Because of this India fought till the end. In that match, Axar was injured. Axar sustained an injury in the left quadriceps stain. He is currently out of the final match squad of India.
Substitute and the future
Washington Sundar replaced Axar for the final day. Sundar is currently in a national camp in Bengaluru. He is likely to be flown to Colombo for the final game. He played his last ODI in January.
Injury is a concern for every team before the World Cup. From every team, a few people are injured. Even the finalist of the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka is also covered up by injuries. The injury rate in the Sri Lanka squad has been increasing rapidly. Mahesh Theekshana sustained an injury recently.
