Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has praised Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for his exceptional leadership of the Indian cricket team. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, India reached the finals of the ODI World Cup and played in the World Test Championship final.
“Rohit Sharma is a Fantastic Captain, the way he led India in the Test series against England, the way he led in the World Cup was amazing. He is a brilliant Captain,” said Sourav Ganguly on RevSportz.
India recently sealed the Test series against England, with Rohit Sharma leading a team of youngsters, including four debutants. The team is now preparing for the fifth Test match against England at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, starting from March 7.
Regarding the omission of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from the BCCI central contracts list, Ganguly expressed surprise, especially regarding Ishan Kishan’s decision. Ganguly highlighted the importance of playing first-class cricket, especially for contracted players, emphasizing that players like Ishan Kishan, who play for India in all formats, must prioritize participating in domestic cricket.
India will soon shift focus to the Indian Premier League, starting from March 22, where Rohit Sharma will play for Mumbai Indians under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
