The turning point of the match came a few overs before the collapse when Harmanpreet Kaur’s dismissal sparked controversy. Attempting a sweep shot against Nadia Akter, Harmanpreet seemed to have missed connecting the bat, but the umpire raised his finger following appeals from the Bangladeshi players. Infuriated by the decision, Harmanpreet hit the stumps in frustration before engaging in a heated argument with the umpire.

In the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet did not mince her words as she expressed her disappointment with the umpiring standards. She called the umpiring “pathetic” and stated that the team would be better prepared to face such challenges in future encounters with Bangladesh.
“We will make sure we have to deal with such umpiring and accordingly, will prepare ourselves,” said Harmanpreet, highlighting the need for the team to adapt to adverse circumstances.
Despite the disappointing result, Harmanpreet commended the performances of Jemimah Rodrigues and Harleen Deol. She praised Jemimah for her consistent performances and revealed that the team promoted her in the batting order to allow her to bat freely, a decision that paid off. Harmanpreet acknowledged Jemimah’s crucial role in the match and credited her for her promising talent.
