Hardik Pandya Thinks MI Didn’t Play Any “Good Cricket” This Season After Another Loss

After a long delay, finally the Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders match for IPL 2024 wrapped up at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The match had a super late toss because of heavy rain in the city.

MI won the toss and opted to bowl first against KKR, which holds the top spot at this season’s points table. The match wasn’t of much consequence to either of the teams as both of them have their paths carved, that too in opposite directions.

“I think it was a par score” says Hardik

Addressing his fans in the after-match ceremony, MI’s newly appointed captain Hardik Pandya says that the match was a tough one, with the score being “par”

“Tough one, yeah. As a batting unit, the foundation was there but we could not capitalise after that and keep the momentum up. The wicket was a little up and down and a little tacky so momentum was very important. I think it was a par score, given the conditions, felt that the bowlers did well.” said Pandya

Speaking about what he wants from the next match, he added that he wishes to have fun and play a good game of cricket. Pandya also confessed that he doesn’t think the MI team has played any good matches this season.

“Every ball that came back from the boundary came back wet. The bowlers made sure they kept taking wickets. (On his thoughts for the next game) Nothing, just to go and enjoy as much as we can and play good cricket, that’s been my motto from the start. I don’t think we’ve played enough good cricket this season.” Pandya added.

MI is looking forward to compete against KL Rahul‘s Lucknow Super Giants in the 67th match for IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
