Gujarat to don a new jersey against Hyderabad today

Gujarat Titans will be wearing their lavender jersey against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their final home game on Monday, May 15. This is in order to raise awareness about cancer. Lavender has been chosen as the colour to symbolize different types of cancer and the livers sacrificed due to the deadly disease.

GT to face SRH today

Gujarat Titans will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today. This will their final home match of the season and they will don lavender jersey for the same to raise awareness about the criticality of cancer. On the initiative, the COO of the Gujarat franchise said, “Cancer causes millions of deaths worldwide and with a devastating impact on patients and their families. We are happy to do our bit in raising awareness about cancer, which not only is an effort to educate people about the importance of early detection but also underscores the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to reduce cancer risks.”Our team is committed to drive positive change and contribute to the global fight against cancer.”

Why Lavender? Hardik says

Hardik Pandya, the GT captain said, “Cancer is a battle fought by millions in India and across the globe, and as a team, we feel responsible towards raising awareness about this deadly disease. Wearing lavender jerseys is our way of showing solidarity with cancer patients, survivors, and their families. We hope our actions will inspire others to take preventive measures and support those who are fighting this battle.”
The defending champions will aim to end the group stage in the top two spots with a win Hyderabad today. They will try to bounce back stronger after their loss Mumbai Indians in their previous encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 12. Gujarat Titans are currently standing on the top of the table while Hyderabad are standing in ninth position.
