Ex India Star Slams Veteran Spinner Ashwin ahead of his 100th test

As veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin gears up for his 100th Test match, former India spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has expressed his displeasure over the way he has been treated by Ashwin. Sivaramakrishnan took to social media to voice his frustration, claiming that Ashwin had cut off his calls and not responded to his messages ahead of the historic milestone.

“Tried calling him a few times to wish him for his 100th Test. Just cut off my call. Sent him a message, no reply. That’s the respect we former cricketers get,” wrote Sivaramakrishnan on X (formerly Twitter).

Ashwin, who will play his 100th Test as India takes on England in the fifth match of the series in Dharamsala, has been a stalwart for the Indian team, with 507 wickets in 99 Tests at an average of 23.91. He is also a handy batsman, with 3,309 runs in 140 innings at an average of 26.14, including five centuries and 14 fifties, making him one of the most successful all-rounders of the modern era.

The fifth Test between India and England in Dharamsala will mark a significant milestone for Ashwin, but it seems that not everyone is celebrating his achievement with the same enthusiasm.
