Dhoni Will Go Without Making A Big Fuss, Says Suresh Raina

MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian cricket has been the talk of the town for the last several months. Speaking about the same Suresh Raina opined that Dhoni will leave cricket without any fuss if he wishes to.

Dhoni has not featured in any competitive game ever since the ODI World Cup semi-final loss against New Zealand last year. His batting approach in the tournament was also criticised by a lot of fans and experts. There have been many times in the last few months when Dhoni’s retirement rumours made headlines. The former Indian captain meanwhile has been declared the captain for the Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2020. So, after all these months Dhoni will be seen playing cricket in the upcoming edition of the biggest global T20 league.

Raina on Dhoni

Suresh Raina recently started training for upcoming IPL along with his Chennai Super Kings teammate Ambati Rayudu. Raina informed that Dhoni would be also joining the camp from the first week of March this year. “Dhoni will probably be coming to Chennai in the first week of March to train ahead of the IPL. Right now, it is so good to see him spending a lot of time with his family.”

In the interaction with the Times of India, Raina was also asked about his thoughts on Dhoni’s international cricket career. Raina clearly opined, “If he wants to leave the game, he will go without making a big fuss.” He also added that he wishes to see Dhoni play more cricket for India as the team also needs him but did not forget to mention that finally, the call has to be taken by the current team captain. “I want to see him continue to play. He is looking fit and has been training hard. I still think the Indian team needs him. But it is Virat’s call on how they go forward.”
