Cummins, Smith, and Starc make a return in Australia’s squad for the ODI series against India

Australia is all set to get back their top order players for the upcoming ODI series against India. The 3-day One Day Internationals series is all set to hail in Mohali from 22nd of September.

Currently, Australia is on its tour of South Africa after which the country will have its next ODI series with India. Ahead of the match, Cricket Australia has released its squad for the same and it looks all strengthened up with a powerful cricketers on the line.

Among those who have returned to the squad are Pat Cummins, Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc who are Australia’s finest and first class cricketers. The three players have returned to the fold who were earlier put out of Australia’s tour of South Africa having sustained injuries.

Travis Head’s unexpected exclusion

Left handed batsman and opener Travis Head has not been included in the squad owing to his serious injuries. Head’s participation in the World Cup is also in doubt after he got his left hand fractured in the 4th ODI match against South Africa, held in SuperSport Park in Centurion. The left hander had to walk off midway after his wrist got all sprained.

On Head’s exclusion, Cricket Australia released a statement which read, “Head will take further medical review on return to Australia before a return to play schedule is determined”.

Australia’s squad for India ODI series

Following are the cricketers who have marked their place in the squad, Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell March, Glenn Maxwell, Tanveer Sangha, Matthew Short, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner and Adam Zampa.

Australia will be facing India in the upcoming World Cup premiering in the month of October on the latter’s homeground in Chennai.
