In a heartening display of community engagement, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have partnered with the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) for a two-pronged initiative. This collaboration aims to enhance the working experience of MTC bus conductors while providing a special perk to CSK fans.
Metal Whistles for Sustainability
CSK will be replacing the existing plastic whistles used by MTC bus conductors with high-quality metal whistles, a total of 8000 being distributed. This eco-friendly move not only signifies a durable upgrade for the conductors but also aligns with CSK’s commitment to sustainability.
“The whistle has always been integrally associated with CSK and Chennai. It’s also a small step towards reduction in plastic usage as the metal whistles last long,” stated KS Viswanathan, CEO of CSK Cricket Limited.
Free Travel for CSK Fans
Adding another layer to this partnership, CSK is offering free travel on MTC non-A/C buses to fans holding match tickets. This initiative allows fans to seamlessly commute to and from the stadium on match days, starting three hours before the game begins. Their match tickets will double as travel passes, eliminating the need for additional fares.
“Plenty of fans have already benefited from our special partnership with MTC this season,” said Viswanathan, highlighting the positive impact of the collaboration. “We’re glad to put smiles on the faces of the public and the bus conductors.”
